Tom Blake House is an independent, family run guesthouse. We are dedicated to delivering an exceptional service with the warmest of welcomes.

An historic house that has been lovingly and respectfully restored, Tom Blake House is a private house, not open to the general public. Only guests registered to stay in Tom Blake House are permitted on the premises. When booking to stay with us you are agreeing to this and all our terms and conditions.

 If you have any questions or concerns about your stay, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We will be happy to talk to you further about these.

We politely request that if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 that you call us as soon as possible to postpone your stay. 

 

Guest Arrival

Our check-in time is 3pm. If you are wishing to arrive earlier, please do let us know in advance and we will aim to do what we can to accommodate an earlier check-in. 


Guest Departure

We ask that on the day of departure you vacate your room by 12 noon. Should you wish to check out later, please do speak with a member of the team in advance and although we cannot guarantee this is available, we will do our best to accommodate your request. Late checkouts without prior arrangement will incur a fee.

 

Booking Policy

 

1. Booking

When you make a booking you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. When you make a booking on behalf of other people you are also confirming that you are authorised to do so and acknowledge that all members of your party agree to these terms and conditions.

When your booking has been made a confirmation will be sent to you by email or text message, using the details that you have supplied during the booking process.

Please check the details of your confirmation thoroughly as soon as you receive it. Please contact us immediately if any of the details are incorrect or incomplete. We will always do our best to rectify any mistakes or accommodate any alterations you want to make. However, we cannot accept liability for any inaccuracies that are not brought to our attention or for any incorrect information you have supplied.

 

2. Payment

Credit card details and a non-refundable deposit are required to secure any booking. The credit card provided is used as a guarantee, a charge will not be made unless a cancellation less than 14 days prior to arrival is made or you fail to arrive. Payment in full must be made prior to departure. We accept most major debit/credit cards. You can also pay through bank transfer, Revolut or Paypal. Unless stated as part of your booking, additional items such as (but not limited to) food, drinks, merchandise, services, etc. are not chargeable and must be paid for when purchased. 

Private Hire or Exclusive Use – a charge/fee will apply when taking the house and staff on an exclusive basis depending on availability. The agreed fee must be prepaid as a non-refundable deposit to hold the booking for private hire or exclusive use.

We accept most cards (excluding American Express). We do not accept cheques (including travellers cheques) under any circumstances. 

You authorise us to charge your credit / debit card for any charges incurred. This includes any damage or removal of property from the rooms.  

We will confirm your reservation by email or text message. Upon request, you can be provided with a final invoice for your stay on your departure. 

 

3. Cancellation Or Non Arrival

Individual bookings may be cancelled 7 days prior to arrival without charge (minus the non-refundable deposit).

If a cancellation is made after this time or you fail to arrive, the full amount of your stay will be charged to the card and is non-refundable.

For multiple night stays, any remaining part of the booking will be cancelled after 6.00pm that evening if we have not received any further instructions from you.

Where a cancellation involves multiple rooms, the charge will apply to each room cancelled.

Private hire or exclusive use bookings may be cancelled 6 weeks prior to arrival without a charge (minus the deposit), after this time the full balance of your 1st nights accommodation will be charged to the card.

Should you need to cancel your booking after the 14 day cancellation period due to COVID-19, we can move your booking to an alternative date, however rates may differ between dates. 

 

4. Prices

All room rates quoted are valid for one room and one night based on 2 registered guests sharing and include VAT at the appropriate rate. We do not have any single rooms and unfortunately at this time can only permit one room at single occupancy rate per night. Prices include breakfast. Whilst every effort is made to honour the prices quoted, Tom Blake House reserves the right to apply increases in the event of changes in Government legislation, tax rates or unforeseen increases in running costs.

The price of your booking will not increase once you have received your confirmation.

 

5. Settlement Terms

Balance of payment is required in full prior to departure, additional items such as (but not limited to) food,drinks, merchandise, services, etc. are NOT chargeable to your room and must be paid for when purchased (on purchase/as you go). Please  do not presume we have your credit card details if you booked online!

 

6. Damage

Any damage caused to Tom Blake House, fixtures and fittings or equipment will result in a charge to remedy any such damage. This includes any damage or removal of property from the rooms. This also includes any costs we incur in order to clean a room as a result of a guest smoking on the premises.

 

Cancellation by Tom Blake House

In the event of an emergency or natural disaster and Tom Blake House has to cancel any booking, an alternative date or venue will be offered.

We are onsite 24/7 - should you require any assistance in the night, you will be given contact details.

 

ALLERGIES & INTOLERANCE'S

Should you suffer from any food allergies or intolerance's please make our staff know in advance. Our kitchen can accommodate nearly all requirements however we cannot guarantee a trace free environment. We will always do our best to ensure you have something delicious to eat.

If you have a feather allergy please let us know on booking your room (or at least a day before your stay), so that we can ensure our bedding and pillows are suitable.

 

VOUCHERS

Gift vouchers are available but are non-refundable.

PARKING

We have a car park with plenty of space. We have never had an instance of car theft in our car park but please be aware you are solely responsible for your car and its contents. Please also park with respect to other guests.

 

WIFI

There is free wifi throughout Tom Blake House. Please use it responsibly. There is usually a member of staff who can help you with IT issues but in this event we are not responsible for any consequential damage to your equipment.

 

SMOKING

Smoking and vaping is not permitted anywhere inside Tom Blake House. There is a cleaning charge for any guests found to be smoking in their rooms or anywhere in the house, which may be taken from the credit/debit card details given during booking. If you would like to smoke, please do so away from the building. Ashtrays can be provided if needed.

KEYS

Keys are to be returned upon checkout. Should you mistakenly take a key home, please let us know and send it back to us as soon as possible. Should a key be taken home and not returned within a week we shall replace this key and there could be a charge.

 

CHILDREN

Children are welcome at Tom Blake House, however they must be supervised at all times. Kids under 5 are free. €35 bed & breakfast for children aged 5-12. No charge for babies in cots.

 

ROOM SECURITY

We recommend that you keep your bedroom locked when vacant. You are responsible for your possessions during your stay.

 

HOUSEKEEPING

Housekeeping is available during your stay. 

 TOWELS

If you would like to help us to save water please refer to our towel policy below.

A towel hanging up means “I’ll use it again”.

A towel left on the floor means “Please replace me”.

*Please note that towels will only be replaced on stays longer than 2 nights and when requested.

 

UNRULY GUESTS

Thankfully everyone who stays at Tom Blake House is lovely! Only registered guests are permitted to stay and we do ask that you respect your fellow guests (particularly noise wise) and our staff. We have never had cause to do this yet, but in extreme circumstances management does have the sole right to remove unruly guests, with no refund.

 

NOISE LEVELS

Please be aware we are in an old listed building. So there is some inevitable noise that travels through the walls, ceilings and windows. We have tried to make alterations to mitigate this and we do our best to make sure that this is reasonable (where within our control), particularly early morning and late at night, but there may be some more noise than in, say, a purpose built modern hotel.

PETS

No pets allowed.

 DETAILS

Please do not rely on simply sending in an email or leaving a message for any requests. We pick up pretty much everything but occasionally will miss something, so please make sure your request is acknowledged by us.
